The Muse-ic Pub

Yet another reason why Muse are miles better than Paramore. En route to a family function, I saw this pub in one of the areas surrounding Donnybrook, in D4.
It's not the only Irish connection either. One of Matt Bellamy's relatives (grandmother, I think) is Irish. Plus, Bellamy's uncle was murdered in Northern Ireland during the troubles. Allegedly, the Irish Republican Army were behind it, but they never officially owned up to the murder. This in turn led to Bellamy's obsession with Conspiracy Theories, a recurring topic in Muse's music.
One final tidbit of info for the moment: the Man on the Harmonica riff frequently played as an intro to Knights of Cydonia made its debut in Marley Park, Dublin, on the 13th of August, 2008. I was lucky enough to witness that event. What a show it was. Matt's ability to recreate ALL of the infamous synth lines on his guitar. He is able to do things with his guitar that no-one else is able to do with theirs. That's what makes then so fuckin good live.
Muse beats Paramore. Full stop.

BlackStar is coming.....

This summer, A new star will emerge from the darkness....
BlackStar Studios is an independent recording company based in the South Galway area. Using our portable sound recording system (and our even more portable sound mechanic), we can record a local concert or event. We then edit and master the recording in our home studio using the latest technology. All this within 2 weeks. Not bad, innit?
We also record demos for any budding artists interested in getting into the business. Once post-recording editing is complete, clients then have the option of having their tape dispatched to radio stations in the area. [copyright pending]
Interested? E-mail openmicsoundguy@aim.com with details and a rough recording for a quote.
Stand by and get ready for BlackStar, Ireland's newest recording alternative.

MoreCowbell.dj
I came across this website during my intrepid travels of the world wide web. It's a pure gem. What it does is it takes a song you upload and, based on how much cowbell/Christopher Walken you want in it, it adds a backing track to represent this.
The website is based on the Saturday Night Live sketch when Christopher Walken plays a producer obsessed with cowbell.
I had a go and here's the result.......
Song used is Poker Face (Rock Version) originally made famous by Lady GaGa, but played to a new level of brilliance by Russian YouTuber Aleksey Vanin. Original video is below.
