Can't say much about Irish, as I didn't do it for the JC.
What I'll say is this. Make a timetable and STICK TO IT. Don't try and cram. It doesn't work. If you do after-school study, use the time wisely. That said, don't work yourself to death. You shouldn't study for more than an hour without taking a 10 minute break.
